EMC adds two offices and three more people

EMC has opened new offices in Brighton and Chichester and added three more people to its team.

It brings the firm's roster of senior business advisors to 16 and extends its area of coverage from Thanet in the East to the Solent in the West and up to London.

Joining EMC are:

David Barclay, a highly versatile international executive with a long track record of running successful businesses ranging in size from £2m to £2bn pa.

Giselle Barrowcliffe, a former Head of Finance in the Supply Chain Division of Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd, responsible for all areas of accounting and financial decision-making in the £450m turnover division.

Ryan Smith, EMC's new strategic financial planning and valuation associate who has recently returned from Australia where he fulfilled a similar role with one of the country's leading venture capital groups.

Giselle will operate alongside another recent recruit, Justin Caffrey, out of EMC's new West Sussex office at Deerfield House, Second Avenue, Almodington, near Chichester, while Ryan will be based at the new office at 114a Church Road, Hove. David Barclay, who lives near Guildford, will use EMC's Crawley office as his touch-down base. The firm's other offices are at Eastbourne and Maidstone.

EMC Helps Genesis Move Down Under
As Part Of
A$150m Deal

The Eastbourne-based Genesis Forwarding Group has been acquired by the giant Australian Toll Group in a A$150 million double deal also involving the WT Sea Air Group based in Harmondsworth, Middlesex.

Genesis was advised on the sale by EMC Corporate Finance chief executive Nik Askaroff who has had a ten-year relationship with the company as both a non-executive director and mergers and acquisitions adviser.
