Justin is a highly experienced entrepreneur and businessman who has held a number of senior roles within the UK banking sector and its intermediary markets.
These included being MD of a financial services business that he took from a negligible net profit position when he joined in 2002 to profits in excess of £2.5 million by 2008. He helped grow the business from a small, single entity with eight staff into a group of five companies with 110 employees, diversified business interests and several profit centres, including some in Europe.
Having sold various business interests in 2008, Justin planned to take a 12-month break to enjoy some time at home. But, having missed the buzz and excitement of business life, he cut short his sabbatical to join EMC in July 2009. He is now working with SME directors and owner/managers to help them achieve their goals, expand their markets and maximize their profits.

Background Experience
Justin has first-hand experience of how tough it can be to run a business in a normal market, let alone in a recession. He also knows how difficult it is to canvass honest and straightforward advice from staff. So he often acts as a sounding board for senior managers, offering a second opinion and/or constructive criticism and solutions. He understands that being an entrepreneur can sometimes be an isolated and lonely place and that advice and coaching from someone who has walked in their shoes can make all the difference.
Justin has in-depth experience of preparing businesses for sale or laying the initial foundations for a future sale. So although this may not be the right time for you to sell, it is important that your company and its finances are in a position to capitalize when the opportunity presents itself. Because Justin understands the process of due diligence, and how banks, private equity and corporate buyers will inevitably try to dilute the initial offer price, he will help ensure that your company structures and internal systems are sufficiently robust to ensure you achieve maximum value.
Good IT systems are important in order to provide management with the right information to run and manage their business. Justin has assisted with the development and implementation of processing and mapping systems for companies in both the UK and abroad. Although he would never claim to be an IT expert, he does understand the mechanics of what modern systems can deliver and how they can benefit the decision-making process.
Justin has a reputation as a strong and determined businessman, and a dynamic and confident advisor who is happy dealing with business owner/directors, their management teams and staff as well as third parties such as bankers and suppliers. He will also run workshops for senior management and sales teams at their premises.
In addition, he also has a good understanding of the redundancy processes and the needs in the current turbulent market conditions for downsizing and cost cutting.
On a personal note, Justin understands the importance of wealth management, investments, fund strategy and structured retirement and lifestyle planning. He is not a qualified financial adviser, but he has invested, disposed of and reinvested in more complex structures than most financial advisers could ever dream of!
Outside of work, Justin's great passion is horseracing. He has owned several winners over the years, enjoying particular success at both the Royal Ascot and Galway festivals. He is married with one son and lives in Chichester, West Sussex.
