Peter Aves 07827 336137 peter.aves@emcltd.co.uk A Quantity Surveyor by profession, Peter has 40 years experience in the construction sector including more than 25 years in house building. He has served on the boards of three house building companies, including two divisions of PLCs, and held the posts of commercial director, technical director and managing director. He led a management buy-out of a specialist kitchen supplier and, as its managing director, oversaw a complete transformation of its operations which, over five years, increased turnover from £2.4m to £9m and widened the customer base to include a number of major PLCs. John Packer 07841 668096 john.packer@emcltd.co.uk John is a Chartered Engineer who has worked in both the public and private sectors - the latter at Director level - prior to establishing his own engineering design practice in 1991. He was at the forefront of the sustainability movement in this country long before business in general caught on to the need to develop practices and policies that protect the environment, whilst reducing costs and increasing profits. During the 15 years he spent running John Packer Associates he helped clients across all sectors to complete many quality projects, on time and to budget. David Smith 07905 526896 david.smith@emcltd.co.uk David has more than 30 years experience of working within the construction sector. Early experience was gained within the Costain Group, working as a project accountant on a number of large projects in the Middle East. Further experience of the overseas market was gained with the privately-owned Wade Adams Group, where he worked extensively in Africa undertaking a variety of financial and project accounting roles. Since returning full time to the UK, David has held senior roles within the specialist construction division of the privately-owned OCS facilities management group and, with EMC, undertaken a variety of assignments within the construction sector, including several interim FD roles. Julian Clay 07775 513770 julian.clay@emcltd.co.uk Julian is highly motivated and experienced sales professional who has helped many SMEs to grow their businesses through his close involvement with every part of the sales and marketing process. He has also worked as an interim sales director in the construction industry. He has worked with companies of many different sizes to help them meet a variety of sales-related challenges. He is able to work with a sales team to provide solutions which produce a stable, effective and profitable sales operation. He is also the author of two books on selling techniques and sales management, and is currently co-writing a book on how SME owners can look at ways to improve their understanding of the challenges faced by different board director roles.
