Construction seminars to help build businesses
EMC’s specialist Construction Advisory Team is holding two breakfast seminars in February aimed at owner-managed SMEs in the building and construction sectors.
The first is at Maidstone’s Turkey Mill on 7 February and the other at the Birch Hotel, Haywards Heath on 16 February. Both start at 8am and finish at 10am.
The seminars will offer advice on a number of key issues affecting companies that are either under-performing or looking to build on their current success.
It includes:
- How good operational management can dramatically improve cash flow.
- How to increase profitable turnover and win more tenders
- Ways to grow by acquisition, whatever the market conditions
- How to plan an exit strategy in order to maximise the rewards for years of hard work
- The difference an experienced Finance Director can make
The seminars will be led by four members of EMC’s Construction Advisory Team who between them offer a complete and complementary range of skills from sales, commercial and financial management through to specialist technical consultancy, business and project management.
John Packer, a Chartered Engineer who ran his own building services, engineering and sustainability design practice for almost 20 years before selling it in 2009 and joining EMC, said: “I’m sure the seminars will provide plenty of food for thought for owner-directors of small and medium sized businesses in the construction sector, whether they’re looking to protect what they have, expand by acquisition or prepare for a profitable exit.
“We’ve all had long careers in the industry, from the bottom up, so the advice we are able to offer comes first hand from the school of hard knocks. All the advice given will be based on practise, not theory.”
EMC is the South East’s leading independent firm of business management and corporate finance advisers. Since its formation in 1989, it has helped hundreds of business owner/directors to increase sales, improve profitability, grow by acquisition, raise capital, restructure their finances, improve overall performance and, when the time is right, plan and execute a successful exit strategy.
