Craig is our Young Entrepreneur of the Year

The EMC-sponsored award for Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the 2012 KM/KCC Kent Excellence in Business Awards has gone to Craig Harrison of Aquaread Ltd of Broadstairs.

Our Kent-based director, Desmond High (second from right) presented the trophy to Craig at the presentation dinner held at Gillingham’s Priestfield Stadium.

It marked a remarkable double for the MD of the Broadstairs-based company that was named KEiBA Start-Up Business of the Year in 2011.

Desmond, who shared judging duties with Paul Barron (pictured far right), director of co-sponsors Kent Foundation, said: “We were impressed by the enthusiasm and drive of all the entrants, but Craig stood out quite clearly from all the rest. He is a highly focused individual with a real entrepreneurial spirit.”

Aquaread’s high margin, innovative water quality testing products now sell in more than 70 countries.

Runners-up were Dishal Patel of DK Vision Ltd of Ashford and Canterbury, and AJ Sharp of Sharp Relations Ltd of Maidstone.
