EMC ADVISES ON THE SALE OF FAIRFIELD TRADING TO SWEDISH LISTED ADDTECH

EMC is delighted to announce that Addtech BV, listed on the Swedish Stock Exchange with a market capitalisation of over SEK35 billion, has acquired Fairfield Trading Company Limited (“Fairfield”), a leading battery distributor based in the UK. EMC acted as Lead Advisor to the Shareholder of Fairfield as well as providing Transaction Support Services.

Carl Grue, founder and Shareholder, will continue in a consultative role and Christian Godding, Business Area Controller for Addtech’s Power Solutions division, has been appointed as Director to oversee operations.

Carl Grue said: “It was important for me to find a buyer that would honour the legacy of the business I founded over 18 years ago. In Addtech I am clear that I have. EMC was an integral part in the sale process of my company. Having spent several months researching various M&A companies to partner with, I am so pleased that I chose EMC.

From the initial scoping and research phase through to the negotiations, due diligence and final completion I had the full support of the EMC team, in particular

Michael Pay and Carl Fillery. In addition to normal working hours they were available to help during evenings, weekends and even worked during the Christmas holiday period. Throughout the whole process, Michael and Carl offered me a wealth of professional advice along with the personal support I needed to help with the completion of the sale of my company”.

Michael Pay, Co-founder and Director of EMC, added: “It is always a privilege to represent an owner and play a part in the journey of a lovely business. Despite the pandemic and Brexit this once again proves that the UK is a superb place to do business and to invest. We ran a full process and we are delighted for both Carl and Addtech on the outcome”.
