EMC seals another global deal

In its third major global deal in the last few months involving businesses in the pharma/healthcare sector, EMC Corporate Finance has completed the sale of international pharmaceutical consultancy Carlyon Green to Florida-based ACRx LLC.

Carlyon Green, based in Worthing, was formed by serial entrepreneur Brian Green, an expert in pharmaceutical delivery and supply in the USA.

EMC CEO Nik Askaroff, who led the team advising Carlyon Green, said:

“We were delighted to be instructed by Brian Green to act for him and his shareholders in exiting his latest venture. We have worked closely with Brian for more than 20 years and have helped him to sell two previous businesses.

“Sterling’s relative weakness following the Brexit vote earlier this year undoubtedly helped the trans-Atlantic deal, although Carlyon Green’s expertise in the US marketplace was a major attraction for ACRx.”

Other advisers working with EMC on the deal were lawyers DMH Stallard and accountants Carpenter Box.

The Carlyon Green sale is the third major healthcare-related deal EMC has completed in the last few months following the £6m sale of leading UK condom manufacturer Pasante Healthcare to Malaysian company Karex Bhd and the sale of Viridian Pharma to international specialty pharma company Martindale Pharma.
