Having picked up five nominations EMC were delighted to walk away as winners in three categories at last nights Insider South East Dealmaker Awards.

EMC were named Corporate Finance Team of the Year, Deal of the Year and Michael Pay picked up the coveted Dealmaker of the Year award.

The awards are the key independently judged awards in the region. The judges added the following comments:

Corporate Advisory Team of the Year

“EMC completed 17 transactions through a variety of both buy and sell side mandates as well as fundraising across a broad range of sectors in the region, and the judges were impressed by what it termed the team’s refreshing approach to several challenges.”

Deal of the Year – £26m Shoreham Port sustainability linked refinancing

“The judges simply said this deal ticks all the boxes for what makes a good deal, in that it allows business leaders to realise their visions, and helps re-energise a vital sector and getting the region’s economy back to firing on all cylinders.”

Dealmaker of the Year

“Michael Pay’s major deals included the refinance and fundraising of Shoreham Port by HSBC and sale of IEP Financial to Cairngorm Capital’s Verso Wealth Management. The judges said Michael’s recent activity only added to his reputation of being a majorly significant presence in the region and that he has earned this award due to having an outstanding 12 months.”
