Most business owners only sell a business once and it will probably be the most important transaction of their lives. In the second of this three part series, you will learn from people who make a living from crystallising the value that you have locked up in the business through a successful sale.

Michael Pay is a Director of EMC Corporate Finance Limited leading the Sell Side Team. Over the past 25 years he has been advising businesses, Directors and owners on corporate strategy and Mergers and Acquisitions. 

Using his qualification as a Chartered Accountant and experience as a Finance Director, Michael has unrivalled experience in preparing businesses for sale “at the coal face” and being responsible for identifying, approaching, negotiating and successfully selling them on behalf of the Shareholders. e has work on over 75 deals and in 2016 the sale of Ivy Press to Quarto, which he led, won Insider Media’s Deal of the Year for the South East, for Deals under £10m.

Ross Christie is in charge of EMC Corporate Finance’s Post Acquisitions Team. He is responsible for identifying targets, negotiating deals and then integrating the businesses acquired into portfolio Companies. 

Using his qualification as an accountant and experience in business as a Finance Director, Ross will knows what buyers look for in an acquisition and where to find value.

Together Michael and Ross will take you through the process of preparing your business for sale, approaching buyers and successfully completing the sale so that you can “get rich by getting out”!
