Three more wise men join our Kent team
Three more senior professionals have joined our team in Kent in the last few weeks.
Peter Aves from Ashford, Rod Muir from Sittingbourne and David Ellam from Borough Green are working out of our Maidstone office, offering strategic and operational advice and support to companies throughout the region.
All three have had long careers in senior management.
Peter Aves has spent more than 25 years at board level, mainly with companies involved in construction and development. Most recently he ran a major contract kitchen business which he grew from £2m turnover to more than £8m in seven years.
Rod Muir is a management accountant and general manager with extensive operational and board level experience in both permanent and interim roles. His responsibilities have ranged from autonomous profit centre management, primarily in the manufacturing and distribution sectors, to corporate restructuring including mergers and acquisitions.
David Ellam is an experienced all-round accountant who has held senior financial positions with a number of well-known PLCs and SMEs. He offers a practical ‘sleeves rolled up’ approach to financial planning and direction, and a keen understanding of operational and commercial issues.
Desmond High, EMC Kent director, said: “We celebrated our 20th anniversary in 2009 and I can’t remember a time when our services have been in more demand.
“Obviously the recession has had something to do with it. Many more companies have been asking us to conduct reviews of their businesses and advise how they can best ride out the storms. And many of our people are now embedded in businesses acting as interim and non-exec directors to help steer them through the rough waters.
“Peter, Rod and David bring a vast amount of additional experience and expertise to our team, and provide our clients with a rich new seam of talent on which they can call for support and advice.”
