Michael Gibbs

Michael is an analytical and commercially focused chartered accountant based in our Brighton & Hove office. He is a Lead Advisor in our corporate finance team and joined the EMC board of directors in 2018. In 2020 he was named Emerging Dealmaker of the Year at the Insider South East Dealmaker Awards as voted for by a panel of experts.

As an EMC director, Michael works as a lead advisor with growing and mature SMEs. Since joining EMC in 2013, initially as head of research, he has worked on over 75 transactions across sectors including manufacturing, e-commerce, technology and business services.

Michael is an ACA qualified chartered accountant with previous experience working at an accountancy practice advising owner-managed SMEs in the South East region. During this time, he specialised in financial reporting, tax compliance and management accounting. At EMC, he brings these skills and experience to corporate transactions advising owner managed businesses on disposals, acquisitions and fundraising projects.

As the Head of EMC’s Valuation Team, Michael also applies the knowledge learnt at the front of deal making to understand, assess and report to Directors and Shareholders on valuation targets and planning.
