Ryan Smith
Ryan is an experienced corporate finance professional based in our Brighton & Hove office. In his role as a Lead Advisor, Ryan utilises his 15 years of experience to support clients prepare for, navigate and execute successful transaction outcomes.
He first joined EMC in 2009, joining the Board of Directors in 2020. During that time Ryan has worked on over 100 transactions in sectors such as wealth management, B2B services, technology, payments, recruitment, aviation and manufacturing.
Ryan spends his time at EMC advising clients on both the buy and sell side, as well as leading debt and equity fundraising projects. He offers the full suite of corporate finance advisory services and has completed acquisitions, company sales, management buy-outs and fundraisings for EMC clients.
He is committed to building strong, long-term relationships with entrepreneurs, corporates and investors across London and the South East by delivering advice that maximises value throughout the transaction process.
Ryan is originally from Brighton, but began his career in Australia with a leading investment group, working on institutional funding and development projects before returning to Sussex and joining EMC.
Ryan’s recent transactions include the acquisition of Jigsaw by payments technology business Tillo and the sale of IEP Financial to private equity-backed IFA platform Verso Wealth Management.
