Immediately prior to joining EMC, Tony spent six years as industry Client Director and UK FMCG Lead at IBM where his roles and responsibilities included driving growth across this $200m industry sectorand managing directly several major FMCG accounts. Tony continues to work with IBM in the management of a number of these major accounts.
His key achievements during this time included the identification and closing of many major deals (£100m+ during 2017 to 2019), the implementation of major ERPs, as well as the successful deployment of many analytics projects to support FMCG marketing and supply chain. Most recently he has also been involved in supporting the migration of an entire FMCG workload to cloud technologies, driving down cost and improving flexibility. This is a key tenet of the IBM strategy.
Before taking on his role as Industry Client Director, Tony spent 12 years as Travel and Transportation Partner and European Lead at IBM where his clients included British Airways, Amadeus, TUI, Thomas Cook and APMoeller-Maersk. He had full P&L responsibility across all IBM business units.
Earlier in his career, he spent two years with sporting goods e-retailer Boo.com, initially advising them and then building the operation as COO. He also had one year as Venture Partner at internet incubator Antfactory.
Tony’s key skills include IT Strategy, Programme Management, Account Management and Sales, Cloud Enabled Growth , Advanced Analytics and Blockchain.
A graduate in Natural Sciences (Physics) from Cambridge University, Tony lives in West Chiltington, West Sussex. Outside of work, he enjoys golf (playing of a 6 handicap at West Sussex, where he is a Board member), and tries to keep fit and healthy!
